Sanket Gandhare is an experienced data scientist with expertise in machine learning and its applications, particularly in NLP components such as sentiment analysis, fraud detection, named entity recognition, coreference resolution, automatic speech recognition, and news recommendation systems. He has completed his Masters in Computer Science and Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where he also wrote his thesis on Spoken Language Translation. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. Currently, Sanket is working as a Senior Manager Data Scientist at Jio, where he is a part of the Recommendations team. His responsibilities entail designing and implementing personalized news recommendations for each user and building a skills framework for recommending appropriate skills. Prior to this, he worked as a Data Scientist at IBM, where he worked on Watson Finance products such as Entity Research product for Negative News Ranking, Surveillance Insights, Insurance Analytics, and Openpages. He also won the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award (OTAA) for his work on Negative News Ranking. Additionally, he was involved in creating CBSE AI curriculum for grade 11 and 12 as part of the CSR activity. Before IBM, he worked as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, where he worked on the Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud Service product, formulated APIs for testing, and was part of the new TDD development initiative team.
