Sanket Ghenand is an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for building products. He has a demonstrated history of working in POC and product development, with a strong focus on online maps, location, and navigation technologies. Sanket is skilled in a range of technologies, including PostgreSQL, Unix, Docker, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Angular, and Java. He has also worked on projects with hands-on experience with Kafka, Camunda, ElasticSearch, and Akka. Currently an Intern at TomTom, Sanket is responsible for adding new mappers that transform data from TomTom model to RAAH model, enabling new visualization features in the map. He has also ported the encoding mechanism of map tiles from Python to C, reducing the tile generation time by 5x. Sanket has previously worked as an Associate Software Engineer and Software Engineer at TomTom, where he worked on various projects, including making RAAH (real-time map update system) an open platform, optimizing queries for map-tile size reduction, and setting up ELK pipeline for logs monitoring. He has also enabled dockerization for 15+ microservices of Mapshare-Reporter, created an on-demand environment, and CI-CD pipeline. Sanket was awarded the Most Promising Young Talent at TomTom in May 2019 and was a finalist in the TomTom Hackathon, where he created a POC for providing customizable maps for users. Sanket holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 2018.
