Sanmoh Hombal is a Product Engineer at Atlan, a modern data workspace that enables better collaboration between diverse users like business, analysts, and engineers. With a relevant experience of 3.78 years, Sanmoh has a strong background in software engineering, UI development, and backend development. Previously, Sanmoh worked as a Software Engineer at Portcast, where he built the company's UI from the ground up and implemented dashboards for maritime shipment predictions. He also introduced maps and live tracking of ships throughout the globe and engineered a design system and a component library for all UIs in the company. Sanmoh helped scale the platform backend from running 50 predictions per minute to ~10k and broke down a monolith backend service into a more distributed microservice architecture. He migrated the company's data ingestion service to async architecture and built a search engine indexing service to help serve and search data in a matter of milliseconds. Before joining Portcast, Sanmoh worked as a Member of Technical Staff at Fyle, where he dabbled across the company’s tech stack and briefly started understanding how everything works on a systems level. He worked on a full revamp of a server-side PDF report generation microservice and helped build minor parts of the company’s image processing API to help scan and recognize text patterns in bills. Sanmoh holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Science & Engineering from SDM College of Engg & Tech, Dharwad. He has experience working with Snowflake, search, microservices, testing, Jenkins, Flask, Postgres, image processing, AngularJS, Docker, and more. Sanmoh has also helped standardize engineering practices throughout the company and moved all builds from Jenkins to GitLab CI.
