Santhosh Kumar is a highly motivated and talented Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate student currently pursuing a dual degree at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is a passionate software engineer with a keen interest in working at the intersection of technology, management, and development. Santhosh is also an avid competitive coder and a deep learning enthusiast. Currently interning as a Software Engineer at Rubrik, Santhosh has already made significant contributions to the company. He has built a support tool using Ansible and Python that can detect the presence of software hotpatches on a cloud cluster. Additionally, he has implemented a Jenkins automated job to produce an updated version of the tool compatible with newer software releases. His work has significantly decreased occurrences of potential upgrade regressions by incorporating the tool as a pre-check in the upgrade pipeline. Santhosh's performance during the internship has earned him a Pre-Placement Offer. Prior to his internship at Rubrik, Santhosh worked as a Research Intern at Adobe, where he worked on incorporating emotional context into an end-to-end deep learning-based text-to-speech system. He implemented various improvements to the Tacotron 2 architecture on Pytorch and trained them on single and multi-speaker datasets. His work resulted in a U.S. patent application filed under the title "A Method for Expressive Text-to-Speech using Contextual Word-level Style Tokens." Human evaluations demonstrate the architecture's capacity to capture emotional contexts like happy, sad, surprised, angry, etc. Apart from his academic and professional achievements, Santhosh has also served as the Rock Show Coordinator for Saarang, the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras. He managed the prestigious Rock Show, identified potential artists, and negotiated profitable deals with artist managers. He coordinated with teams responsible for sponsorship, stage production, online publicity, ticket sales, graphic design, hospitality, etc. Santhosh's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Research Science, Deep Learning, Ansible, Python, Jenkins, and Pytorch.
