Sapan Turkar is a highly experienced technologist with over 18 years of experience in software engineering, product development, and project management. He is currently working as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Salesforce, where he leverages his expertise in core Java, JavaScript, Clojure, HTML, REST/WS, SQL, microservices, CI/CD pipeline setup, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, migration to AWS/GCP, scaling and high availability using clustering, load balancing, caching, and event-driven async flows. Sapan has extensive experience in XP/agile practices in product development, clean code, TDD, software architecture evolution for high scale, performance tuning, and benchmarking of software applications. He has led projects with multiple product development teams with a mix of QAs and product managers and mentored multiple team leads for improving and sustaining team efficiency. He has also partnered with business stakeholders to define product priorities and roadmaps and worked with executive teams for defining quarterly/annual engineering OKRs for product verticals. Sapan has worked with a variety of software stacks, including Kafka, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Redis, HA-proxy, Kong, GCP, Kubernetes, Consul, Go-lang, NodeJS, Nginx, Cassandra, Oracle, MS-SQL, AngularJS/TypeScript, RxJava, Spring, Hibernate, in-memory data grids, Hazelcast, and Tomcat. He has lots of business domain experience in Ride Sharing, Digital Marketing, International Payments, Amdocs CRM, eTom Framework, and Salesforce CRM. Sapan is a hands-on coder and an agile practitioner with a heavy emphasis on clean code with TDD. He is an IBM certified SOA designer and experienced in the execution of projects by applying the Theory of Constraint. Prior to joining Salesforce, Sapan worked as a Vertical Lead at Gojek, where he evolved marketplace teams and architecture to support high composability, scalability, and performance. He has also worked as a Principal Consultant at CDK Global. Sapan holds a BE degree in Computer Science from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and an EPGDBM degree in General Management from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies. He completed his HSC in PCM from Kendriya Vidyalaya.
