Sapna is an accomplished Associate Director of Sustainability with over 15 years of experience in environmental resource management and policy, food and agriculture, and health and nutrition. She is passionate about finding solutions to global health and environmental problems and has contributed significantly to this field through her work at the University of California's Office of the President and as an author and lecturer. At the University of California's Office of the President, Sapna managed major elements of systemwide sustainability programs for 10 campuses and 5 health systems. She provided strategic policy guidance around procurement, foodservice, carbon neutrality, herbicides, water conservation, green laboratories, and health. Her contributions to the organization have been significant and have helped to make a positive impact on the environment and the health of the people. Sapna also has experience in business development and oversaw relationships with over 300 health and technology companies with data science needs at Insight Data Science. Her tasks included securing 20 new contracts worth between $25,000 and $90,000 and training new staff and assistants on business development projects. Sapna holds a PhD in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley, an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Environmental Studies and International Studies from the University of Chicago. She has a diverse range of skills, including software engineering, testing, Java, data science, and integration. Sapna's relevant experience spans over 12 years, and she is currently working as a Lecturer at San Francisco State University, where she teaches a class about global ecological crises.
