Sapna Gera is a technology leader with over 20 years of expertise in architecture, design, development, and delivery of large-scale high-availability systems. She has diverse experience in distributed system design, microservices, SOA, middleware and messaging, cloud native technologies, big data, streaming analytics, backend service design, front-end technologies, and engineering tools. Her expertise on distributed computing using tech stacks such as Java/J2ee/React, Vertx, Kafka/Solace/IBM MQs, NoSQL/RDBMS, private cloud, etc. has made her an asset to every organization she has worked with. Spearheading multiple large-scale programs/projects on digital transformation for various domains such as Risk Management, Acquisitions, Enterprise Shared Services, Investment Banking, Contact Center Servicing, and Education, Sapna has proved her leadership skills. She is an Inclusion & Diversity Champion who thrives on developing strong relationships and intensely values inclusiveness and diversity. She actively sponsors and participates in various initiatives such as Grace Hopper, Women in Tech, Mentorship Programs, Disability awareness network, etc. and leads various hiring events for campuses and GHC. Currently serving as WIT APAC President for the BNYM Bank, Sapna is a true inspiration to many. Currently working as Vice President, Software Engineering at BNY Mellon, Sapna has functioned as Program Lead and steered business partner relationships, customer support, vendor engagement & management, and technical solution delivery. She has also handled various projects in the capacity of technical solution delivery owner. This was a start-up business unit, and she was actively engaged in hiring and training processes for the team. In the past, Sapna has worked with companies such as AMEX and Nucleus Software. At AMEX, she was responsible for leading various portal applications for risk management. She acted as Project Lead and established strong cross-functional relationships with team members, stakeholders, and business partners to effectively influence the achievement of technology solutions. At Nucleus Software, she worked in the capacity of team lead for COLLECTIONS financial product. The major tasks in hand were Project Management, Client Management, Ensuring project deliveries for various banking clients in South East Asia and India. Sapna holds an MSc in IT from PTU and a BSc (H) in Mathematics from Delhi University. Her relevant experience in the field is 18.95 years, and her tech stack includes Backend, Big Data, Java, NoSQL,
