Sarah Brittan is a Senior Development Manager for Prodigy Finance's Mobile Team, where she leads a team of Mobile Engineers working on Android and iOS apps and related micro-services using React Native and Node with JavaScript. She manages bi-weekly sprints, assigns and follows up on tickets, and does stakeholder management. She is passionate about UX and enjoys being involved in product and design decisions. Sarah completed her Masters in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town in 2018, with a focus on ICT4D. Her research looked at how a mobile app could be developed to enhance and support the relationship between NGOs and micro-entrepreneurs they train. She worked in collaboration with The Clothing Bank and titled her thesis "Co-Designing in the real world: Managing a multiple stakeholder design process with an NGO". Before joining Prodigy Finance, Sarah worked as a Software Engineer at OLX, primarily on their Android app, and fulfilled the role of interim Product Manager. She managed bi-weekly sprints and was the second to her manager, taking over leading the team when he was away. Aside from her work in technology, Sarah has done private tutoring in Maths and other subjects, lectured a half-term module for a first-year Computer Science course at the University of Cape Town, and taught classical and contemporary piano lessons. She has also been involved in supporting and managing the music careers of two young artists. Sarah has a Bachelor of Business Science in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town and a Senior Certificate (full Matriculation Exemption) from St Cyprian's School. She is not open to new job opportunities at the moment and is not willing to relocate away from Cape Town, South Africa.
