Sarah Byrum is a Software Engineer II in Cloud Platform and Tools at Groupon, based in Seattle. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Cognitive Science from Michigan State University in 2019. Sarah has a passion for using technology to help others grow and develop, and she enjoys working outreach events where she can encourage an early love for tech in future generations of engineers. Sarah has a total of 4.20 years of relevant experience in software engineering and infrastructure. She has previously worked as a Software Engineer I in Cloud Platform and Tools at Groupon. Before joining Groupon, Sarah worked as a Women in Engineering Ambassador and Office Assistant at MSU Women in Engineering Outreach. In this role, she organized outreach events to increase hundreds of young girls' interest in STEM fields, encouraged a creative and welcoming environment during activities with attendees, hosted informational sessions to answer questions and provide resources for incoming College of Engineering students, and worked as a Girls Who Code founding mentor for Michigan State's first club. Sarah's tech stack includes software engineering and infrastructure. With her experience and passion for using technology to help others grow, Sarah is a valuable addition to any team.
