Sarah Fowler is a Senior Software Engineer at SimSpace Corporation with over 11 years of relevant experience. She is a Lead Frontend Engineer who works with both frontend-domain and cross-functional teams to deliver features and tackle large-scale tech debt and architecture initiatives using React and Typescript, and using functional programming principles and fp-ts library. Sarah has collaborated extensively with UX and QA teams and across product engineering teams to identify key pain points for usability in the application and propose short- and long-term plans for improvement. She has made significant headway in converting legacy js files to Typescript and replacing deprecated libraries, components, and patterns. Sarah has also led the discovery efforts for revamping their content authoring flow. As an individual contributor, Sarah has been highly productive, closing so many bug tickets that she was nicknamed "The SimSpace Spider." Her past companies include tq tezos and Vets First Choice, where she worked as a Frontend Developer and Software Developer, respectively. At tq tezos, Sarah worked on a wide variety of closed- and open-source projects for a company supporting the Tezos blockchain community. She identified projects that needed UX and UI support and improvement and contributed. She also managed several static websites, using different frameworks and languages. At Vets First Choice, Sarah worked on a small team building a customer-facing front-end web application using Typescript, React, Redux, GraphQL with Apollo Client, Sequelize, and JoinMonster. Sarah has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Springfield, and a Clinical Masters in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. She also has a degree in Health Arts & Sciences from Goddard College and studied at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy.
