Sarah Masud is a highly motivated and accomplished PhD scholar currently pursuing her doctoral degree from the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Delhi). With a focus on social computing, complex networks, and NLP, Sarah is studying online platforms for hate speech detection and diffusion. She is a recipient of the PM Doctoral Fellowship'20 and has volunteered with JOSS and AnitaB. Prior to her current role, Sarah worked as a Software Engineer for 2.5 years, where she developed and maintained end-to-end ML solutions for data modeling and machine learning, particularly in the field of RecSys. Her experience in this area has given her a deep understanding of the practical applications of ML and NLP, which she is now applying to her research. Sarah is currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at IIIT-Delhi, where she is responsible for teaching the course CSE559 on Mining Large Networks. She has also worked as a reviewer for the Journal of Open Source Software and as a Doctoral Student at the Laboratory for Computational Social Systems at IIIT-Delhi. Sarah's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, as well as a High School Diploma in Science from The Frank Anthony Public School. She is expected to complete her PhD in Computer Science from IIIT-Delhi in December 2024. Sarah's tech stack includes expertise in product management, ML, NLP, and software engineering. With 4.37 years of relevant experience, she is a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional who is passionate about using technology to solve complex problems.
