Sarat Chandra Pasumarthy is a Senior Engineer in Corporate R&D at Qualcomm, where he contributes to the company's 'Cloud AI' line of inference accelerators for the datacenter and the edge. With over 7 years of relevant experience, Sarat has expertise in benchmarking and performance analysis/optimizations on datacenter and cloud technologies, specifically on Qualcomm's line of ARM-based server processors/platforms. In his previous role at Qualcomm, Sarat was a Senior Engineer at Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies Inc., where he took initiatives to create a learning environment for the team in server and datacenter technologies such as cloud computing, virtualization, and containerization. He has extensive experience in performance engineering and benchmarking efforts on Qualcomm's Centriq ARM server for cloud computing, virtualization, containers, databases, networking, and I/O workloads. He has designed and implemented custom workloads to evaluate application scalability and system behavior under load and has leveraged Linux profiling tools to capture system-wide metrics and conduct TCO analysis. Sarat's initiatives at Qualcomm include setting up and managing the mini-datacenter for benchmarking efforts by the team and demonstrating an OPNFV deployment on ARM servers using Juju charms, partnering with Canonical, at the OpenStack Summit Boston 2017. He has been recognized for his contributions and initiatives and was awarded the Qualstar award in June 2017 for quickly adapting to, grasping, and working on ARMv8 architecture and delivering quality competitive performance benchmarking reports on time.
