Saravana Kumar Rajendran is a Principal Software Engineering Manager at Microsoft with over 15 years of experience in building enterprise and cloud-scale platforms. He has a proven track record of building strategic, growth-oriented teams that achieve high technical excellence and drive key business results. He has worked in both large-scale MNCs and Indian startup ecosystems, demonstrating his adaptability and flexibility in diverse work environments. Currently, Saravana is an engineering leader within the Energy domain under Microsoft's Cloud for Industries. He leads a team of highly motivated Engineering Managers and Software Engineers who build platforms and services that enable industry customers to transform and innovate on Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) on Azure. His team works with customers and partners in all major industries to help them succeed in Azure and develop industry-specific products that enable their digital transformation. This product portfolio generates tens of billions of dollars for Microsoft. Before joining Microsoft, Saravana was a Software Development Manager L6 at Amazon, where he led the RDS Aurora Serverless stack and initiated and delivered Aurora Serverless v2 stack and contemporary ideations on AWS Simple DB. He also developed and executed both the product roadmap and technological strategies for building robust products. Prior to Amazon, he was a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Citrix R&D India Private Limited, where he led the Cloud team and built the v1.0 cloud-native product – Citrix Ingress Controller (CIC) on Kubernetes. Saravana holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from PSG College of Technology. He is skilled in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Python, Golang, iOS, Microservices, Backend, and more.
