Saravanan Sathyanarayanan is a Senior Technical Lead at IBM with over 17 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. He has a professional expertise in functional testing, testing life cycle, defect life cycle, installation and deployments in Waterfall and Agile methodologies, Selenium Web-driver framework, Java, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, and SQL. Saravanan has been brought in to build the Test Strategy and Test Data Management Strategy for larger implementations. He is responsible for managing the QA life cycle and has extensive experience in manual testing at system testing, regression testing, functionality testing, sanity testing, performance testing, and automation testing. He has hands-on experience on Linux, Solaris, AIX, and Windows OS and has performed unit testing and deployments. Saravanan has worked on the tool Rational team concert -RTC for effectively tracking defects, tasks, and user stories. He has conducted KT for new joiners and contractors on process (Sterling Order Management) and product knowledge. He is accountable for preparing test cases as per the functional specification and has developed test scripts for automation for OMS API using Devharness framework. Saravanan is responsible for identifying, researching, reporting, tracking, and verifying software defects (RTC) proactively. He is accountable for Integration testing, Regression testing, functionality testing, and system testing for various build releases. He provides User Acceptance testing assistance as needed, with business partners. He reviews defects in various drops and enhancements, retests the same, and reports the defects. He identifies the defects that have functional impact and verifies the test results to ensure conformity in line with functional requirements of the Client. Saravanan has worked closely with developers and acted as an integral part of the software development team. He has participated in root-cause analysis of defects. He has also played the Test Lead role in assigning test case, test plan review, resolving technical blockage, and test report for a team size of 15 members spread between India, China, and the USA. He has exposure to Black/White box testing and has played the role Automation Focal for all the automation scripts delivered from India Labs. Saravanan has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University and St. Aloysius Boys Indian High School.
