Saravanan Subramaniam is a highly experienced Big Data Engineer and Senior Big Data Architect with over 29 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as the Lead Hadoop Data Engineer at Encompass Insurance, Data and Analytics department at Allstate. In his current role, he is responsible for enabling Encompass business analytics and data consumers with the integrated data and enhanced BI capabilities to make impactful business decisions and actions. Saravanan has in-depth expertise with Hadoop technology eco-system such as Hive, Impala, Spark, Scala, Python, Tableau, Sqoop, and overall architecture. He has built and supported major initiatives and key deliverables for Encompass, including the Encompass Integration Hub in Hadoop with an integrated view of Policy, Claims, Agency, and other semi-structured datasets. Saravanan has also built analytic files for predictive modeling and advanced analytics for rating, retention purposes, and information delivery tracks for key business metrics tracking such as Close Ratio, Retention prediction, Loss Ratio, Agency segmentation, and performance tracking. Before joining Encompass Insurance, Saravanan worked as a Solution Design Lead at Allstate Technology Operation Project Delivery analytical team, where he built and supported the Data Warehouse efforts that provided a centralized data analytics environment to enable business decisions regarding financial and portfolio information across Allstate Technology Operation. He has also worked as a Senior System Analyst at HTC, where he led the development and support of various Data Warehouse, Mainframe, and J2EE applications in the insurance, banking, and healthcare industry. Saravanan holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computer Science from Bharathidasan University, India. His tech stack includes Big Data, Data Engineering, Senior Software Engineer, Hadoop, Spark, Python, Data Warehouse, Research Scientist, Integration, Scala, and Apache Hive.
