Sarjak Thakkar is a driven and accomplished Machine Learning Research Engineer currently working at Motional, where he is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms for autonomous vehicles. With over 2.7 years of experience in the field, Sarjak has a strong background in research and development, particularly in the areas of computer vision, neural networks, and deep learning. Prior to joining Motional, Sarjak worked at Nokia Bell Labs and New York University, where he gained valuable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant. During his time at NYU, Sarjak worked with Professor K Ming Leung as a TA for Neural Network Computing class, where he prepared and graded assignments and exams, and helped students with their questions. He also worked as a Deep Learning for Network Security research assistant at High Speed Networking Lab, NYU, where he collaborated with Dr. Jonathan Chao on the feasibility of using deep learning methods for anomaly detection in high-speed networks, and developed a system for recognizing network attacks based on header attributes of the flow. Sarjak holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Vellore Institute of Technology. He also completed his Higher Secondary Schooling in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tejas Vidyalaya, Vadodara, and his Elementary Education from Shaishav School.
