Sarthak Baiswar is a Software Engineer with a passion for Android development and a strong interest in science. With over 3 years of industry experience, Sarthak has worked extensively with Kotlin, Java, and the JVM ecosystem. He also has experience in C++, Python, and Machine Learning. Currently working as a Software Engineer II at Compass, Sarthak is responsible for leading and collaborating on the design, coding, and review of complex features such as the Business Tracker and Client Dashboard in the Compass App. He is also working on establishing a Google-recommended design architecture for other engineers to use and contribute to, with the goal of reducing bugs and crashes. Sarthak has created an error handling architecture to be used across the app with a write-once-and-use-often ideology. Additionally, he is ramping up new engineers in Mobile development for clean, maintainable, and reusable code. Prior to his current role, Sarthak worked as a Mobile Engineer I at Compass, where he was one of the early engineers to be hired at the Compass India Development Center. He was an individual contributor for the development, testing, and maintenance of the Android application for Compass. Sarthak delivered multiple features to production like Listings, Buildings, and Property Filters with small to no tech debt, high quality, and maximum reusability with proper unit test coverage. He fixed more than 70 UX and technical bugs across the app by having discussions and suggestions with the Product & Design team. Sarthak also contributed to operational excellence by improving monitoring and operational metrics for the products. Sarthak holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management. He also completed his Higher Secondary School in Electronics from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Junior College and his High School education from Somalwar High School. In addition to his technical skills, Sarthak is a team player and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He is always looking to work on products that impact lives and enhance human life with engineering.
