Sarthak Saxena is a seasoned Software Development Engineer 2 at Microsoft, with over 7 years of relevant experience in the field of web development, computer vision, and machine learning. He is a full-stack web developer who is passionate about marrying functionality and aesthetics to create modern and efficient web applications. Currently, Sarthak is working on building modern workspace communication and collaboration features at Microsoft Teams. He is also part of the Files team, where he oversees the integration of Microsoft 365 with Teams and contributes to feature development and availability improvements for file upload and download across MS Teams. Additionally, he is developing a POC for using Brotli compression to improve network bundle load latency. In the past, Sarthak has worked with Quick Meet, a free-to-use video calling application based out of WebRTC, and Playment, where he served as a Senior Software Engineer (Team Lead). At Playment, he developed gamified data labeling tools using Three.js and Konva.js to solve labeling requirements for the field of machine learning and computer vision. He was also responsible for research and development in the field of web development to optimize page rendering on the end-user side, and he improvised Three.js rendering engine and various other performance improvements to enable the app to work efficiently at the client-side, even with a large amount of point cloud data. Sarthak holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Vellore Institute of Technology. He is proficient in various technologies, including but not limited to Javascript, ReactJS, Integration, Computer Vision, UI/UX design, Frontend development, Typescript, and PHP. He is also a Research Scientist and has experience in testing and implementing machine learning algorithms in production environments.
