Sashank Dara, Ph.D is a seasoned Cyber Security Technologist and Leader with over 18 years of extensive experience in Cyber Security R&D and Consulting. He is the current Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder at Seconize, where he is building next-generation automated and intelligent IT Risk and compliance management products. Sashank is a trusted Security Consultant and Adviser for Top Companies in FinTech, EdTech, IT/ITes, Academic, Real estate Domains. Sashank has a PhD in Cyber Security from IIIT-Bangalore and is the co-inventor of five US patents (and 3 IETF Drafts). He has published more than a dozen research papers at IEEE, LNCS conferences and is a prolific speaker at Security conferences and Invited talks. Sashank’s specialties include Cyber Risk Management, Security Architecture, Security Posture and Performance Management, Cloud Security, Applied Cryptography, Data Privacy Preserving Computations, Security Management, Network Security, Security Advocacy, Security Usability, NFV Security, Security Architecture, Threat Intelligence, and REST API Security. Prior to Seconize, Sashank worked as a Technical Leader at Cisco, where he was instrumental in inventing cryptographic protocols for proving the transit path of packets in a network. He also worked on several other initiatives for security innovation, including Breach Detection Splunk app, SnortoSphere, and Privacy Guard. Before Cisco, Sashank worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent, where he worked on the Optical Network Management System and applications of Graph Theory in Finding Automatic path in a given network. Sashank has a diverse educational background, including a PhD in Computer Science from International Institute of Information Technology - Bangalore, a Master of Science (M.S.) By Research in Cryptography, Cloud Security and Privacy from IIIT Bangalore, and a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from KLCE. He also holds an Intermediate/Pre-University degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry from Raghu Junior College and a High School/Secondary Certificate Programs from St Josephs English Medium High School. Sashank’s relevant experience includes 10.44 years, and his tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, ML, and Software Engineer.
