Saswata Dutta is a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer with almost a decade of experience in the tech industry. Currently working at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Saswata is focused on optimizing Spark performance in AWS EMR Dataplane. Prior to his role at AWS, Saswata worked on the Data Engineering team at Rivigo, where he helped drive analytics and reporting from data efficiently. He also played a key role in revamping the Payments/Commerce Platform into a Microservice-based architecture. Before Rivigo, Saswata spent almost 5 years at Adobe as a developer, where he worked on ML-aided document conversions and helped in Scala-based server-side code with some Java thrown in and client-side with JavaScript. Saswata has a strong educational background, having completed a Master of Technology (MTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in 2013. Saswata's technical expertise is vast, including AWS, Software Engineering, Web, Spark, Scala, Microservices, Data Engineering, ML, Javascript, Postgres, Java, Deep Learning, Apache Airflow, Amazon Athena, MongoDB, Integration, Senior Software Engineer, AWS Glue, test, Pandas, MySQL, Spring Boot, Frontend, and Backend. Throughout his career, Saswata has worked on a range of exciting projects, including implementing a knowledge graph to automatically detect related accounts of belonging to the same AWS customer, optimizing integrations with billing and metering platforms of AWS and Amazon Business, and implementing a heuristic-based approach to map incoming emails to appropriate customer accounts with around 98% accuracy.
