Sathish Kumar Sivasankaran, PhD is a Senior Data Scientist at novac technology solutions with a wealth of experience in human factors engineering, injury prevention, and transportation safety and security. He has worked as a Senior Researcher at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (RBG labs, IIT Madras) where he developed expertise in the safety and security of all road users (drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians) and the human factors of technological change in the transport system. Dr. Sivasankaran specializes in the safety and security of all road users (drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians) and the human factors of technological change in the transport system. He has strong programming skills in R and Python with deep understanding and developing models using Machine Learning and Deep Learning technologies in the areas of accident analysis, road and industrial safety. He has worked on a range of projects including road safety and human factors, human factors in transportation, and human factors applications for various industries and products. Dr. Sivasankaran has expertise in applying the knowledge of human factors principles and techniques for road safety evaluation, developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based road traffic injury prevention and control programs, and identifying risk factors and choosing interventions for road traffic injuries and evaluation of road safety interventions. He has also conducted simulator studies and on-road studies to understand driver behavior among road users, on-road assessment of driver behavior, performance and fatigue trends, and subjective and objective assessment of physical and cognitive examination among drivers for on-road and simulator study conditions. Dr. Sivasankaran has presented his research at multiple conferences and journals and has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Transportation Human Factors from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He also holds a Master of Design in Industrial and Product Design from Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University. Dr. Sivasankaran has a strong technical skill set that includes research scientist, data scientist, ML, deep learning, SQL, Python, NLP, web, Jupyter, Keras, Seaborn, Scikit, TensorFlow, Pandas, and Pytorch.
