Sathya Narayanan is a Senior Big Data Engineer with over 10 years of experience working with distributed databases, distributed column stores, NoSQL data stores, object stores, RACs, DW/BI, and ETL environments. He is currently working as a Manager of Data Engineering at Amazon, where he specializes in large-scale distributed processing with both open-source technologies and AWS services. Sathya has a strong inclination to be a full-stack developer and is interested in working with all different flavors of databases, relational or otherwise, to build large-scale distributed systems that facilitate insight generation using ML and deep learning. He is passionate about working in a data scientist role to have a more hands-on experience in applying various models that he has studied in theory to real-world applications. With a relevant experience of 14.36 years, Sathya has worked with various companies during his career, including Amazon, where he worked as a Big Data Engineer, and also as a Data Engineer, building and operating an Analytics platform that supports decision-making across the Amazon retail organization. Sathya holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Leather Technology from Anna University, and a Higher Secondary degree in Maths and Biology from Bethel Matriculation Higher Secondary school. He also holds an SSLC degree from Christu Raja Matirculation Higher Secondary school.
