Satish Kumar is an Assistant Professor at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology with a strong background in mechanical engineering. His research interests are focused on the design, fabrication, and mechanical characterization of adaptive membrane-based lightweight structures for space applications. He plans to study these structures using a combined experimental and numerical approach. Kumar is particularly interested in the interplay of mechanics and geometry, which can be observed in different applications, from composite materials' properties to mechanical instabilities' creation in adaptive natural systems. Kumar is also interested in applying these concepts in nanorobotics and self-healing materials. He has experience in intelligent passive damping of membrane space structures, self-repair of space structures, advanced smart structures, advanced computational methods for space antenna, space technology, non-linear dynamics, continuum mechanics, modeling and simulation, finite element method, membrane structures, shape control, active and passive vibration control, optimization, computer-aided design, sustainable product design and development, waste management, Advaita Vedanta, and Indian philosophy. Kumar has 4.87 years of relevant experience as a research scientist and product designer. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at BIT Sindri and a Lecturer at DKTGI Nawanshahr. Kumar has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He also holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in CAD, CAM & Robotics and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and NIT Jalandhar, respectively. Kumar's education history also includes I.Sc (12th) from College of Commerce, Patna, and Matriculation (10th) from High School Kinjer, Arwal. He is proficient in using various technologies and tools related to his field of expertise. Kumar is a highly motivated individual with a passion for research and development in the field of mechanical engineering.
