Satish Mehta is an accomplished professional with over 35 years of experience in the fields of finance, technology, and policy making. He is currently serving as a Board Member at Digital India Fund, a government-backed initiative to support the growth of digital startups in India. In his current role as an Independent Director at ibtv, a technology company focused on virtual and augmented reality applications, Satish is responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to the management team. Satish's previous experience includes senior leadership roles at Scsi Capital, a venture capital firm, and a.f.ferguson & co, a leading chartered accountancy firm. At Scsi Capital, he was responsible for setting up and managing venture capital funds and providing merchant banking services to investee companies. At a.f.ferguson & co, Satish worked closely with the Indian government to help set up the regulatory and licensing framework for the telecom sector, establish the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), and corporatize the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) services arm into Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Satish is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Management Studies degree from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and is a Chartered Accountant from a.f.ferguson & co. Satish has been involved in several policy-making initiatives related to technology, science, and innovation, including working groups and committees for the National Chemical Laboratory, Department of Science and Technology, Technology Development Board, Risk Capital Technology Consortium, STPI, ISRO, DoT, Dept of Post, and Ministry of Heavy Industry. Satish's extensive experience in the startup funding ecosystem includes restructuring of state financial corporations, creation of SIDBI, development of VC Regulations 1996 of SEBI, creation of SME stock market platforms, and conception of the central government trust for SME loan guarantees. He is a member of several corporate boards and has been a consultant to the Asian Development Bank on transportation and connectivity. Satish is a recognized thought leader in the technology and finance sectors and has been a speaker at several industry events.
