Satya Prakash G S is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 14 years of experience in the industry. He has a career that spans networking layer, storage layer, and application layer. Currently, he works at Uber as a Senior Software Engineer (SSE) where he brings his expertise in software engineering, big data, and infrastructure to the table. Previously, Satya worked at MapR Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer where he designed and developed high-performance fuse filesystem for MAPRFS. He also developed NFSv4 support for MAPRFS and designed a Hybrid Cloud Project that involved moving a volume (metadata) from on-premise to cloud. Additionally, he made changes in RPC to support cloud environments and worked on changes required to make fileclient posix compliant. Satya also designed Metrics Support for MAPRFS which integrates metrics with opentsdb and grafana. Before MapR, Satya was a Senior Software Engineer at Cisco where he was part of the Nexus1000V team. He developed datapath for the first release of N1K for KVM platform and VMWare ESX, KVM. He worked in the following areas - Packet Scheduling, Packet Filtering, Layer 2 Switching, Platform, and Infra development for data path. Satya also worked on hitless upgrade of the line card and developed In-Service Software Upgrade for the Switch Supervisor. He addressed scalability issues of VXLAN Gateway. Satya holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He is proficient in various technologies such as Software Engineering, Big Data, and Infrastructure.
