Saurav Varma is a highly skilled Frontend Developer with a passion for creating tools that enhance user experience. Currently working at 1mg, Saurav has envisioned and authored a cutting-edge architecture that focuses on sustained performance and scalability. This architecture includes features such as viewport-based lazyloading, granular control over chunk formation, automated dynamic rendering, selective server-side rendering at component level, automated CSS injection for prefetched component chunks, and seamless integration with apps for webview. Saurav has also built a design system that is geared towards the Indian demographic, is lean and consistent, and establishes finite states logic. This design system enables the design and building of user interaction patterns, which helps to offer impeccable experience to the users. Thanks to the integration of the architecture and design system, Saurav has been able to ship full ecommerce pages under 400KB on average, improve code quality and DX, and ship end-to-end code as much as 5-8x times faster on average. With 4.86 years of relevant experience, Saurav is responsible for frontend engineering at 1mg, where he is establishing a career growth framework, managing the entire team, elevating overall skill level, and building a culture that promotes collaboration and knowledge-osmosis. Prior to joining 1mg, Saurav worked as an intern at CSIR, where he built a cloud-based Android app that enabled virtual checkups and diagnostics to take place. Saurav holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science from BML Munjal University, where he graduated in 2018. He also completed his High Secondary education from Goenka Public School in 2013 and attended St. Xavier's School - Dibrugarh from 1999 to 2011.
