Senthilnathan Swaminathan is a Principal Engineer at Amazon with over 15 years of experience in software design and development. He is passionate about building applications that are performant and scalable, and enjoys troubleshooting performance issues and fixing them. Prior to joining Amazon, Senthilnathan worked as a PMTS at Oracle, where he conceptualized and implemented a new sequencing methodology in the product to improve efficiency and enhance parallelism. He also re-designed the engine run-time functionality to be leaner and more efficient to support higher throughput demands, achieving more than 5x throughput increase through these changes. At Infosys, he served as a Technology Lead and was responsible for the design, development, and enhancements of applications to meet business requirements. He also worked with various stakeholders to ensure that the design and implementation addressed their requirements and provided SME support for issues/clarifications on applications created by the project. Senthilnathan's projects include developing a platform from scratch to provide the client with the ability to share data, which is consistent and cohesive. The architecture used real-time replication to replicate the data from the Brokerage Trading system, cleansed and exposed the information as services. He also identified failure and latency points within the application and addressed them to enhance the availability and quality of the existing services. Additionally, he designed, developed, and implemented another Java/JEE application from scratch to expose external-facing SOAP web services to integrate internal system APIs with an external vendor. Senthilnathan holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University, College of Engineering. He also attended Stanes Higher Secondary School. His technical skills include QA, Java, and Web technologies.
