Sergey Serebryakov is an experienced backend engineer with a passion for algorithmic bottlenecks, performance optimizations, and high-load low-latency scalable fault-tolerant architectures. He specializes in distributed systems, functional programming, code quality, and systems design. With over 9 years of relevant experience, Sergey has worked with a variety of programming languages, including Scala, Haskell, Go, Elm, Java, TypeScript, Python, Erlang, C++, PHP, and Perl. Sergey is currently working as an Algo Engineer at Hudson River Trading, where he is responsible for designing and implementing high-performance trading algorithms. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cruise, where he developed specialized frameworks around PyTorch and TensorFlow, enabled multi-GPU cloud training and evaluation on large-scale datasets, and continuously improved DL models training performance (up to 30x). He has also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Tesla, where he developed Autopilot AI Tools powering labeling, training, and inference processes, introduced a scheduled Autopilot Maps build pipeline, and built a CI farm of Raspberry Pis for firmware builds testing. Sergey holds a Specialist degree in Software Engineering from Saint Petersburg State University. He has also attended ALMADA-2013 and JASS-2012. He is interested in frontend engineering, computer security, machine learning, and computer vision. He has proficiency in using AWS, Docker, and Jenkins for software development. Sergey is a skilled programmer who dislikes monoliths. He has shared his expertise by running mapreduce jobs and publishing his before-and-after refactoring work. He is a quick learner, a team player, and a reliable problem solver.
