Shailesh Kumar is a highly experienced Mixed Reality/Immersive Media Architect with over 20 years of experience in developing computer graphics software. He is currently the Vice President of Engineering at SmartVizX, the leading VR company in India specializing in the use of VR for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction domains. Shailesh is heading a multidisciplinary engineering team that is working on developing a VR architectural design collaboration and visualization platform for the AEC industry. Shailesh has expertise in 3D graphics, OpenGL, and computational geometry, and he is proficient in designing highly efficient algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. He has a strong background in software development and planning using Agile principles and is skilled in C++, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Unity 3D, Unreal Engine, and Android. In his previous role, Shailesh was the Senior Chief Engineer at Samsung, where he led the GearVR team and Samsung's initiative on developing new user experiences for Samsung Galaxy phones in the AR and VR domain. He also led the development of a unique and innovative VR solution for GearVR by visualizing non-VR 2D apps in a VR environment by modifying Android graphics components. Shailesh has also worked as an Architect for Immersive Media, AR, and VR at Intel, where he architected Intel's cloud and data center solutions and platforms for Mixed Reality and Immersive media use cases. Shailesh holds an MS in Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, and a High School degree in Science from La Martiniere College Lucknow. He has relevant experience of 23.95 years and specializes in software engineering, product management, and mobile technology.
