Shamit Patel is a highly experienced product leader with a proven track record of success in consumer growth, emerging markets, B2B platforms, and advertising. With over 20 years of relevant experience, he has made significant product contributions to multiple companies, leading to incremental revenue valued experimentally at over $X Billion, YY Million new MAUs, and X00,000 new advertisers. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of Product Management at Instawork, a staffing app for Hospitality and Light Industrial Partners and Professionals. In this role, he is responsible for creating economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals globally. Shamit has strong skills in strategy and product for Mobile (iOS, Android, Mobile Web across external & internal usage), Online Advertising, Large Scale Systems, Application Programming Interfaces, and Software as a Service (SaaS). He is also an angel investor and advises startups on user and business growth, as well as running scalable operations. In addition, he is currently looking to hire a design lead, designers, and product managers. Before joining Instawork, Shamit served as the Director of Product Management at Mindstrong, where he was responsible for strategy, road mapping, and execution for multiple product lines that enabled 4x growth YoY and rollout to 10s of states. He was also a First Round Mentor at Product School, where he taught a class of future product leaders on Saturdays (Feb 2019 cohort). Shamit holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from VJTI.
