Shane Carr is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 17 years of experience in the field. He has a passion for technology and a hunger to always learn and improve. Currently, he holds the position of Principal Engineer at Yammer Inc. where he is responsible for the architecture and design of the video platform. He has also designed the Adaptive bit rate player analysis and selection and cache, Platform Migration to SharePoint, and the Design Store for user's rich media. Shane's past experience includes working as a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft Exchange Groups where he designed and implemented the backend logic for a consumer group offering in outlook.com. He also built a key component to save read unread state for Exchange Groups and designed the first class graph APIs for Group management operations. Additionally, Shane's experience includes working as a Sr. Software Developer at LexisNexis where he delivered a distributed system to process and route documents through the court system. He also developed a Service Oriented Search Framework utilizing FAST search technology built on .net. Shane holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Western Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Business from Washington State University. He has a diverse tech stack that includes Software Engineering, Android, Microservices, Search, Azure, Backend, and Frontend development. Outside of work, Shane enjoys reading, cycling, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
