Shang-yun Yeh is a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services, with a background in computer engineering and photonics. He is a self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative, and multidisciplinary person who loves to build projects, and software is one of the best approaches for him to turn his ideas into reality. Shang-Yun has a passion for creating things and has been doing so for the past seven years. He has adapted open-source Java games and transformed them into side-projects, which has led him to become a full-stack developer. He has taught himself full-stack development and transformed his knowledge into his full-stack personal website. To challenge and practice himself for design thinking, he joined a course to build an Augmented-Reality project and utilized its strength to design a prototype, which is unprecedented and could potentially help those people who have hearing or seeing loss. Shang-Yun has worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Amazon, where he migrated main features from core service to other sub-services to be aligned with the future product blueprint. He also refactored distributed services on EC2 and Lambda to simplify workflow and enable new features. He has experience working with Agile Development processes and has effectively communicated with managers and senior engineers. He also coordinated between three teams and shared their tasks to help them unblock themselves to meet the deadline. Shang-Yun has also worked as a Software Engineer at Han Yuan Co., Ltd, where he developed and updated the company website using ReactJS based framework GatsbyJS. He also designed visual layouts using Bootstrap 4, customized Sass, and rearranged web page structure and links. He stored products information from HTML to Markdown files and accessed them via GraphQL. Shang-Yun has a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California, where he will be graduating in December 2021. He also has a Bachelor's degree in Photonics from National Chiao Tung University and a Computer Science degree from Chalmers Tekniska Högskola. Shang-Yun's tech stack includes AWS, Software Engineer, Web, Java, and ReactJS. He has 1.43 years of relevant experience and is always looking for new project ideas and experiences to share.
