Shantanu Prakash is a software engineer with a passion for algorithms, machine intelligence, and entrepreneurship. He is currently working as a Software Engineer - III at Avail Finance, where he leads a team of engineers and has contributed to the development of several services, including Fraud management, KYC service, NBFC Framework, and Notification service. He has also played a significant role in scaling the micro-lending product to over 250k active customers. Shantanu is proficient in Python (Django) and has contributed to DevOps by setting up deployment pipelines on Jenkins, migrating to Container cluster on ECS, API gateway management on Kong, and ELK on open search. Before joining Avail Finance, Shantanu was a Software Engineer - III at Trell, where he helped scale the backend by 20X in a short span of time. He was responsible for handling peak loads of 500k RPM and average loads of 100k RPM, with a minimum of 4G data served per minute. He also carried out zero downtime db/cache migrations, set up Jenkins (Release pipeline) and k8s infra on AWS, and prioritized system availability. Shantanu was also responsible for setting up BITS <-> Trell semester-long internship program for hiring 15 interns across tech and product. Shantanu has also worked as a Product Manager at Kaleyra, where he contributed to the release of Hexa, a global omnichannel communications platform. He conducted market and competition analysis and scoped internal tools for sales and support functions for productivity and efficiency. Shantanu holds a Bachelor's degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and completed his high school from DAV JVM Shyamali, Ranchi. He has relevant experience of 6.36 years and is proficient in several technologies, including Jenkins, Search, AWS, Backend, ECS, Golang, PHP, DevOps, infra, product manager, Python, test, Web, and Django.
