Shantanu Prakash is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for algorithms, machine intelligence, and entrepreneurship. With over 6 years of relevant experience, he has worked with some of the leading companies in the industry, including Ola and Avail Finance. Currently working as a Software Engineer - III at Ola Financial Services, Shantanu is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's software systems. He has a strong background in DevOps, having set up deployment pipelines on Jenkins, migrated to a container cluster on ECS, managed API gateway on Kong, and implemented ELK on open search. Shantanu is also experienced in microservices, having contributed to KYC service, NBFC framework, and notification service (GoLang based pub/sub) at Avail Finance. At Trell, Shantanu helped scale the backend, ensuring minimal downtimes and < 100ms response times. He handled peak loads of 500k RPM and average loads of 100k RPM, with a minimum of 4G data served per minute. He also carried out zero downtime db/cache migrations, set up Jenkins (release pipeline) and k8s infra on AWS, and performed backend server upgrades and tuning for performance. Shantanu has a Bachelor's degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and completed his high school education from DAV JVM Shyamali, Ranchi. He has a strong tech stack, including Golang, Jenkins, AWS, Elastic Search, Redis, MySQL, Kafka, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, NodeJS, PHP, Python, and more. In addition to his technical skills, Shantanu is a natural leader and has mentored and trained engineering teams at both Trell and Avail Finance. He is also responsible for setting up BITS <-> Trell semester-long internship programs for hiring 15 interns across tech and product.
