Sharad Gupta is an experienced Staff Engineer at Qualcomm with over 16 years of relevant experience in embedded systems firmware and applications development. He has a strong background in software development and designing using C/C++, data structures, and algorithms. Sharad has a special interest in functional safety (ISO 26262), ADAS, and fast RPC. Currently, Sharad is leading the DSP platform team for Qualcomm's automotive products. He is responsible for project planning, execution, resourcing, and mentoring team members to ensure timely releases. He is also involved in bringing up features on new hardware platforms and working with teams across different geographies to deliver various features for automotive DSP for Qualcomm's products using ISO26262 standard for functional safety. Sharad is a TUV SUD certified ISO26262 functional safety engineer level 1. In his past roles, Sharad has worked as a Principal Engineer at SanDisk, where he successfully led the team to get firmware releases done on time for various SanDisk's USB drives. He has also led the FW development activities for the world's 1st 4TB USB drive showcased in CES 2019. Sharad has worked on various schemes like GAT, IGAT, Folding, Compaction, Wear leveling, hybrid blocks, Hybrid direct write, blind folding, etc. to improve the write performance in USB NAND Flash. Sharad has also worked as a Senior Lead Engineer at Qualcomm, where he was involved in porting BOSCH sensor drivers into Qualcomm's chipset MSM8996. He ported BOSCH sensor IIO device drivers to communicate with SLIM in android middle layer and added new services in the SLIM module to handle CAN messages coming from automotive. Sharad has a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control from NSIT and completed his education from Bal Bharti Public School.
