Sharan Raman is a highly experienced Senior Director in Database Development at Oracle. With close to 20 years of strong database product development experience and over 13 years of complex technical product engineering, management, delivery, and leadership experience, he is a thought leader in the field. Sharan has a very strong computer science and database academic background, coupled with good problem-solving and analytical skills. He is a technical senior director leading system/stress/integration/performance aspects of Oracle Database Kernel's test design and development and prototyping of state-of-the-art test automation, practices, and frameworks. Sharan is part of the Core IDC DB-SMT (DB Senior Mgmt Team) that spearheads several IDC Database Group initiatives and employee engagements. He is a focus leader for various Database Kernel areas, including Oracle Multi-tenant/DB Cloud Services/Autonomous DB Cloud HA, Oracle Data Integration - GoldenGate/Enterprise Replication, High Availability - DataGuard/Broker, RAC, DG Logical standby Rolling upgrades, Large Scale OLTP Databases - OLTP/TXN layer, Autonomous Graph DB Cloud, Virtual OS (dNFS/DBFS/OFS, etc.), Distributed Databases - Message Queuing (AQ/JMS), DB Sharding, DB Diagnosability/TFA, Network, DB Scheduler, etc. Sharan is currently leading Database System/Stress Test Design/Development/Framework for various areas, including Oracle Database Replication/Data Integration/Enterprise Replication - Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle DB Sharding, Oracle Multi-Tenant/Autonomous DB Cloud Features, OLTP Features, Data Guard/Logical Standby - Rolling Upgrade & Logminer for Autonomous DBCS, Advanced Queueing/JMS & Scheduler, Diagnosability, Shared Server & Network/CMAN. Sharan is passionate about hiring and coaching strong and passionate technical SMEs to achieve organizational success via innovative solutions.
