Sharath Babu is a Mechanical Engineer and Quality Engineer with a passion for designing, exploring various CAD modeling software, and studying the mechanical elements of designing. He pursued his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering for four years and then went on to pursue his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering to learn about the concepts of Quality, Production, and analysis. Sharath's interests have grown to the next level, and he is learning and educating himself on how to develop a product and wants to step towards manufacturing and development of a product. Currently, Sharath is working as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Microcast Technologies Corporation. He is constantly thinking about how he can further reduce waste, save time, and increase productivity. Sharath has been honing his skills academically and experiencing in PPAP, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, 8D, 5Why, Poka-Yoke, six sigma, lean, SOP, EVMS, GD&T, Gage R&R, GMP, ISO, OEE, TAKT, statistical analysis, regression, DOE, CAD/CAE drawings, CNC, and other machining operations. Sharath has experience in identifying root causes for defects in components arising in casting, machining, and assembly operations. He inspects and analyzes the returned material and creates quality alerts. Sharath writes work instructions for assembly, trains operators and oversees them for rework operations. He initiated OEE (Overall Equipment effectiveness), a concept of Kaizen to determine the performance, quality of the machines in the shop floor as a part of Six sigma project. Before joining Microcast Technologies Corporation, Sharath worked as an Operations Assistant at LSC Communications, where he inspected, verified, and ensured product conformance of digital/paper publications in AS400 ERP systems. He created label specifications and assessed change requests to aid packaging and shipping operations. Sharath also monitored production lines to optimize line balancing, maximizing throughput in quality assurance. Sharath has a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Texas and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He has relevant experience of 6.94 years and is an expert in QA and Senior Software Engineering.
