Shashank EL is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in building software products. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering from PES Institute of Technology. Currently, he is the Director of Engineering at Halodoc, where he started as the lone leader for backend platforms and has slowly scaled up the team by hiring more leaders and effectively onboarded them to take up ownership across the business. He is currently running a high-performance team of 50+ engineers focusing on core businesses such as medicine delivery, B2C pharma aggregator, medicine B2B marketplace for distributors, teleconsultation and medical records, diagnostics labs, doctor and medicine subscriptions, micro apps, nudge platform, Covid-19 bots, incorporating tools like AppsFlyer, CleverTap for retention, targeting, and retargeting. Shashank is skilled in Microservices, AWS, Java, Javascript, Go, Python, Web Applications, Mobile Applications, REST API, Agile methodologies, WebRTC, Linux, Android & iOS. He has worked with several companies in the past, including Cisco, where he served as a Solutions Architect and was responsible for architecting, delivering, and launching Cisco Patient Connect across various devices and platforms for some of the largest hospitals in the USA. He also managed and mentored a team of 12 engineers, hired and reskilled strategy for various tech verticals, and owned and executed the modernization roadmap. Before joining Halodoc, Shashank co-founded a startup called Prion Technologies, where he served as an Engineering Manager. He evangelized and marketed chatbots for multiple clients and delivered MVP definition and delivery of their proprietary rapid bot builder platform Botmage. He also managed the company financials and rolled out chatbots built on Botmage to their customers OneAssist, Shangrila & Comfort INN. Shashank's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from PES Institute of Technology and Vishveshwaraiah Technological University, respectively. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelors from DVS.
