Shashwat Ranjan Chaurasia is an Applied Scientist at Amazon and Samsung Research, with a strong background in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. He has expertise in a wide range of areas, including Video Compression, Video Summarization, Video Understanding, Optical Character Recognition, Knowledge Graph, Object Detection, Segmentation, and Object Tracking. Currently, Shashwat is working as a Machine Learning Researcher at Samsung, where he is involved in AI Visual Processing at the Vision Research Group. In the past, he has worked as a Visiting Scholar at the National University of Singapore, where he built an object detection model using Computer Vision techniques to do real-time e-scooter detection on NUS CCTV footages. He has also worked as a Visiting Research Scholar at The Ohio State University, where he modeled a passenger vehicle to study the interaction between the vehicle dynamics and friction on icy and snowy roads. He performed dynamic simulations to investigate the vehicle's performance and sensitivity of the vehicle suspension system. Shashwat completed his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2020.
