Shashwat Singh is an accomplished MS Data Science candidate at Columbia University with a passion for building innovative products from abstract ideas. He has a keen interest in the financial and healthcare domains and has developed a personal project that leverages Machine Learning techniques to tap into the USD 450 billion medical equipment industry. This project has the potential to revolutionize the way we use medical equipment and can prove to be a game-changer in the industry. In addition to his technical knowledge, Shashwat possesses excellent collaboration and communication skills, making him an asset in any business environment. As a former GDSC Lead, he has honed his leadership and team-building skills, having trained over 500 students and professionals in the field of Machine Learning and Data Science. He has successfully created a community where people from diverse backgrounds and experiences engage in building technical solutions to everyday problems. Shashwat's mission is to solve community challenges through technological innovations. Currently, he is working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the COMS W4995 Applied ML course under Prof. Vijay at Columbia University. Previously, he has worked with Google Developers as a Developer Student Clubs Lead (India) and a Core Team Member. In his role as a Lead, he conducted and organized over 20 info sessions, study jams, hackathons, and speaker sessions based on ML, Android App Development, Git, and Google Cloud Platform. He engaged with over 500 student developers and professionals over a course of 1 year and mentored a tech-based project for women's safety that went on to become a Grand Finalist in Smart India Hackathon 2020. He also guided two startups in implementing tech stack and negotiated with vendors to set up the supply chain. Shashwat holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from IIIT and is expected to complete his Master of Science in Data Science from Columbia University in December 2022. He has a diverse tech stack that includes Data Scientist, ML, Android, Software Engineer, Mobile, and Python. With 0.35 years of relevant experience, Shashwat is a driven and ambitious professional who is committed to making a positive impact in the world through his work in technology.
