Shaunak Das is an accomplished technology leader with over 12 years of experience in various front-end and back-end languages, responsive frameworks, databases, and best code practices. He is currently the CTO at SBNRI, India's largest NRI platform, where he is responsible for leading the technology team and driving innovation. Shaunak has a passion for creating elegant solutions in the least amount of time, and he is skilled in all phases of the software development lifecycle. He is an expert in translating business requirements into technical solutions and is fanatical about quality, usability, security, and scalability. Shaunak's past experience includes working as a Senior Engineering Manager at Cleartax, where he led a personal finance product from scratch for millennials and built payments infrastructure for consumer ITR business. He also managed a team of 10+ front-end and back-end engineers to handle multiple GST projects and was responsible for file ingestion and self-checkout product. In addition, he handled the full revamp of major landing pages of Cleartax. Shaunak has also worked as a Technology Lead at Tokopedia, where he led the Golang based GraphQL team responsible for Common API Gateway for all mobile frontends of the Indonesian E-commerce giant. He developed the GoLang based GraphQL project, which has sustained multiple huge sale events of reaching up to 250K RPS. He was also part of the platform tribe, which takes care of company-wide SRE and handled deployment and maintenance of Multi-DC setup of GraphQL(GCE Kubernetes, Aliyun Cloud, AWS). Shaunak holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has a diverse tech stack that includes senior software engineer, AI, JavaScript, frontend, AngularJS, AWS, backend, Java, software engineer, mobile, infra, NLP, SRE, web, Kubernetes, iOS, integration, deep learning, Docker, ML, and microservices.
