Shawn D'costa is a highly motivated Data Science professional with over five years of work experience in Telecom Finance and Consulting domains. He possesses high-level proficiency in Data Analysis, Shell Scripting, Data Visualization, Predictive Modeling, Data Preprocessing, Feature Engineering, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Currently working as a Data Scientist at EPAM Systems, Shawn has worked with Pandas, Numpy, Sci-Kit Learn python packages for Data Wrangling and implementing Machine learning models. He has also automated reports and created Dashboards on Tableau and is familiar with Docker, Kubernetes. Shawn has extensive knowledge of Deep Learning concepts like CNN, Masked R-CNN, LSTM, RNN. He has worked on PoC for using Satellite Imagery to detect Methane (CH4) emissions for Utilities domain. As Methane is hard to identify since it is a colourless and odourless gas, he is solving the problem by using Hyper-Spectral imagery and computer vision. Shawn has also worked on a PoC where the objective is to smartly detect the values out of the Electricity Meters / Water Meters. Here he is working on efficiently detecting the values out of the meter readings so that the whole process will be automated and manual intervention will be reduced by using OCR and Object Detection algorithms. In his previous roles, Shawn has worked as a Data Science Evaluator at Great Learning, where he evaluated students' assignments and provided them feedback over it. He has also worked as a Data Science Consultant at Accenture, where he helped reduce the setup time of Corrugated Boxes by aggregating small orders. Shawn has showcased valuable insights on how to efficiently utilise warehouse as well by planning out efficient strategies. He has built an optimiser, which is an extension of the above project for scheduling the products in respective machines by optimising the sequence of the orders so that the production time is reduced. Shawn holds a Master of Science - MS in Computer Science with Specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from Scaler Academy, a PGP in Data Science from INSOFE, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Telecommunication from Don Bosco Institute of Technology.
