Shayn Lozano is an up-and-coming software engineer with a passion for information security. Currently employed as a Software Engineer at Square, Shayn is responsible for building security-focused services that facilitate the manufacturing of Square hardware. Shayn has a diverse range of experience, having previously worked as a Software Development Intern at Microsoft and an Information Security Intern at San Diego Gas & Electric. During his time at Microsoft, Shayn defined and visualized system integrity and customer usage metrics for Bing Ads API, reducing data access time by a factor of 10 and centralizing troubleshooting and telemetry research processes. At San Diego Gas & Electric, Shayn engineered an automated cybersecurity enrollment system using Python, Powershell, and Javascript, optimizing the registration workflow from a several-week operation to instantaneous processing. Shayn holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Harvard University and has also studied Astrophysics and Spanish at the Universidad de Cantabria. In terms of technical skills, Shayn is proficient in Python and Javascript and has experience working as a Research Scientist. With nearly 5 years of relevant experience under his belt, Shayn is a talented software engineer with a bright future ahead of him.
