Sheetal Tare is a Senior Software Engineer at Meta, specializing in machine learning platform systems, backend API development, infrastructure engineering, system software development, and virtualization stack. She is proficient in Python, Java, Go, C++, C, HiveQL, and PostgreSQL, and can quickly pick up new languages. Currently, Sheetal is a part of the Core Data organization at Meta, where she develops distributed systems solutions for serving over 3 billion users of Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Oculus. She is working on Wormhole, which is a change data capture with Pub-Sub system with very high incoming QPS, and is also developing Flow control and Dynamic Subscriptions. Prior to her current role, Sheetal worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Pinterest, where she was a part of the ML infrastructure team. She also worked as a Software Engineer at Uber, where she developed a machine learning platform and infrastructure using Java, Go, Python, SQL, Cassandra, Redis, Hive, Spark, Kafka, Smaza, Flink, Thrift, Shell script, and distributed systems development. She built a platform for Business Intelligence that had more than 25k RPS traffic and served more than 5k features. She also built an asynchronous feature access system, a self-service productionization system, and a real-time pricing system for UberEats. Sheetal has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Mumbai. She also holds an Executive Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School.
