Shefali Jaipuriar is an accomplished engineering leader with over 17 years of experience in the software industry. She is currently an Engineering Manager at Uber, where she leads both the platform and consumer-facing teams for Uber Delivery. Her responsibilities include driving innovation and excellence in both teams, which directly impact the core business. Shefali has extensive experience in data engineering, having led the core data engineering team for Uber Delivery. She has also led business teams focused on increasing the checkout basket size and overall expansion of delivery business for non-Uber managed partners, with a focus on logistics. She is passionate about innovation and excels in identifying new opportunities to grow the business. Prior to joining Uber, Shefali was a Software Development Manager at Amazon, where she led the Value Added Services (VAS) team. She was responsible for building a platform that would host the selling of services with the same degree of convenience and flexibility as products. She also led a team of developers to provide the best last mile experience of the services offered to customers. Before Amazon, Shefali spent 11 years at Teradata in Sustaining Engineering. She successfully fixed real-time high complexity customer issues that came after three levels of failed resolution. She has extensive experience in debugging multi-threaded applications, using gdb, visual studio debugger, and eclipse. She has also done crash dump analysis, retrieved information from hex dumps, and performed assembly level debugging and stack manipulations. Shefali has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology from IIIT and completed her XIIth from D.A.V Public School. She has gained good knowledge in the fundamentals of parallel programming and the building blocks of such types of system software and applications.
