Sheshadri Sreenath is a highly experienced Director of Software Engineering with over 20 years of experience in senior engineering leadership, software architecture, design, and development. He has a strong background in computer networks and security applications, as well as data center and enterprise application software. Throughout his career, Sheshadri has been instrumental in developing award-winning, highly successful, and revenue-generating products from inception to release by leading a team of highly talented engineers. He has a blend of large corporation and startup experience and has taken a lead role in building many successful teams from scratch. Sheshadri is an innovator with a patent in the network/security access control area and has contributed to the UMMT architecture (access side) deployed in one of India's largest 4G networks. He has solid experience in leading cross-functional teams and defining product roadmaps. In his current role as a Director of Software Engineering at Cisco, Sheshadri manages multiple teams across Nexus and ACI product lines, including security and L4 applications, network stack, IPC, OS Infra, manageability, serviceability, smart licensing, software forwarding, protocol development, virtualization, and automation. He is instrumental in building the DC engineering team and coordinating hiring activities for the business unit. He also drives and leads major product releases involving coordination with multiple business units/executives across geographies and account teams. Prior to his current role, Sheshadri held positions as a Principal Engineer at McAfee and a Senior Member of Tech Staff at Oracle. He has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering. Overall, Sheshadri has 23.95 years of relevant experience and is proficient in handling project management activities, including estimation, planning, and tracking, and directing teams for delivering within the constraints of schedule and resources. He has also delivered many technical seminars, guest lectures, and webinars in many premium academic institutions, including IITs.
