Shibalik Mohapatra is a highly skilled software engineer with over 4 years of experience in the industry. He is passionate about problem-solving and enjoys finding solutions to different software problems. Shibalik is interested in learning and building software applications and products with any tech stack. Currently working at Google as a Software Engineer, Shibalik is responsible for Chrome Desktop UI features and is in charge of the top chrome UI components. He has also designed and implemented tab scrolling with dragging functionality for Chrome Desktop. Shibalik has collaborated with UX Engineers and Product Managers to work on visual improvement of various chromium components like tabstrip, bookmarks, side panel, and tab groups. Prior to joining Google, Shibalik worked at Amazon as a Software Development Engineer. He was responsible for the Remediation of Bad Orders team, working with buyers, merchants, and investigators to file and resolve claims. Shibalik designed and implemented Product Liability functionality within the claim system. He added a Simple Queue Service(SQS) handler for receiving claims in AWS and backend rules for handling different events using drools. Shibalik also worked on system maintenance and operational ticket tasks like migrating services, removing software risks, and adding logging and monitoring and customer tickets. Shibalik has also worked as a Software Engineer at Cisco. Here, he was a Software Developer on the forwarding team in Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, simplifying the application deployment process to data centers. Shibalik designed and implemented a Kafka-based Consistency Checker distributed application, which validates data across multiple layers and simplifies issue tracking for network administrators. He also utilized PyAts framework and Ixia client REST API to develop automated testing of various traffic flows. Shibalik holds a Master's degree in Computer Networks from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science (Online/Part-Time) from Georgia Institute of Technology.
