Shihad Salam is a Technical Supervising Associate at EY with over 11 years of experience in architecting, designing, and implementing complex software products. He is a prolific team player with excellent soft skills and technical capability, self-motivated for continuous improvement. Shihad has deep dived into the nook and corners of Microservice architecture, adhering to the design principles, and has rich expertise in Business Stakeholder Meetings, drives with clear-cut data points and product MVP’s. Passionate in leading the team, Shihad strives to take challenging responsibilities and finish with perfection. He is an expert in Java/JEE latest technology stack, experienced in Streaming Platform implementations, and well-versed in Agile environment, following the Scrum model. He has experience in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and has domain experience in Banking, Insurance & Financial Services. Currently, Shihad is leading the development team of a data streaming financial service platform at EY, which is extremely complex with the vast variety of tech stack such as Java/JEE, SpringBoot(Microservices), Cloudflow/Flink, Kafka/EventHub, Scala, Azure Services(EventHub, Blob, KeyVault) etc. He is actively involved in all the stages from requirement gathering, designing, implementing, and performing platform MVP demo to the business stakeholders. Previously, he played the role of Lead Developer/Individual Contributor in one of the Anti-Money Laundering product development using the latest Java/JEE tech stack such as SpringBoot(backend), Angular(frontend), Apache Oozie, Hive, etc. Shihad follows Agile best practices in DevOps environment using Azure DevOps. He was also initially involved in one of the migration projects where his key role was to conduct Technical Feasibility study on redesigning an existing product in AWS to suit the EY standards, Azure. Shihad Salam has worked as an Associate Software Architect at UST and as a Systems Analyst at Allianz Technology. He has a B-Tech degree in Information Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology.
