Shishir Joshi is a Senior Software Engineer at Zalando SE with over 11 years of experience in team lead and software engineering roles. At Gojek, he led the Reliability team for GoPay, where he was responsible for building tools to scale systems and help other teams track and improve uptime of systems. Among his key initiatives was an app-sharding system that enabled horizontal scaling of core transaction systems. This system reduced the instances and blast radius of any outages. Another key initiative was migration to using Istio as it helped solve some of their service discovery and observability issues. Shishir completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engg from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela in 2011.
