Shivam Chourey is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for developing solutions related to computer vision, path planning, and machine learning. He has a particular interest in interdisciplinary domains such as robotics and automation, CAD, and autonomous driving. With over 5 years of industrial software development experience, Shivam has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in his field. Currently employed as a Software Engineer at ASM, Shivam is responsible for developing machine control software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Prior to this, he worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Unmanned Systems Lab, where he was involved in cooperative human-robot search in a partially-known environment with multiple UAVs. His responsibilities included high altitude flight for gathering information of the current state of the environment using a UAV, 3D reconstruction, and mosaic creation using overhead images, occupancy grid map, and network map creation using point cloud data, and mosaic, among other tasks. Shivam is a highly educated individual, having earned a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2020, and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from IIT in 2014. His educational background has given him a solid foundation in the principles of software engineering, computer vision, and machine learning.
